Wet walk with the 7D at my favorite lake where i spent most of my summer days as a child. Inspired by a great week and fink in my headphones. This is a personal peace of (he)artwork, hope you like it! Music: Fink - Perfect Darkness (finkworld.co.uk) Filmed with Canon EOS 7D (i wish i had brought my 5DmkIII that day with its amazing low light capability!) the 50mm/1.4, 24-70/4.0, 85/1.8 and 70-200/2.8 II. Had a very small lightweight slider with me i ordered at igus.de, and a little manfrotto tripod. Edited in Final Cut Pro 7 (yes i still don´t uses FCPx) color graded with 3 way cc, nothing else (didn´t have ...
The Canon 5D brought a great new way of producing videos to us, thanks for that. On the other hand, this also brought a lot of need in disk space, which is not always fun. My latest project was quite big, 3 days of shooting with 2 5Ds, a lot of material, and even more after converting to Apple´s ProRes, ending up with a 1TB hard disk full of stuff. (If you don´t know what i´m talking about, you might want to see this post by vincent laforet (or one of hundreds concerning prores conversion). Here´s just a short post on how to manage your fullHD videostuff, without running out of ...
Canon was nice enough to give me the coming up Canon IXUS 300HS for some days to test this neat little cam. The first thing i really liked about it was unpacking it. I think my old Sony-Ericsson mobile was quite about the same size. (a liiittle bit smaller) The next thing i love about it - press "ON", see the Canon-Logo for a second, and go! No annoying startup-time like many others still have. And the function that made me most curious - 240 frames per second, in QVGA (320x240 pixel). Not too big, but still enough for nice little youtube-clips. Before telling long stories about the camera, let me ...
Last Autumn i finally got myself a nice little tool for my 5DmkII I wanted ever since. A little Timer-Remote-Trigger (Canon TC-80N3). Until then, i was one of those freaks thinking "for those few timelapse sequences I take, this doesn´t pay off". You know what that means... Try to shoot at least 500 pictures, one every 10 seconds. I tried once, that was the day I went to my local dealer and payed 137,- € for this remote. Not cheap, but worth it. The internet knows countless replicas of this remote. Some of them you should cast an eye at, or better 5-8 eyes. Poor processing can spoil the party, and what ...
